nanowrimo

*gulp* Last night I was up until 1:45am working on a possible story idea, and I think I've got enough flesh to it that I can confidently use it for my nanowrimo challenge *checks the scribbles she has down again to make sure* yep ... I think so. It's not a terribly original idea, but I think that might be to my benefit, as to date, I have managed to get writers block on all of my somewhat original pieces. So maybe something unoriginal will be the ticket. So yes, I think, as of today, I have officially started my own nanowrimo challenge ... so if I don't surface for 30 days, now you know why :D

If anyone else is interested in getting in on this, you're more than welcome! I'd love the company and those to commiserate with. :D

Well, I don't have much time to ramble about today, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I got into the program! Yay! I'm very excited and nervous at the same time. I'm worried about finances, even though I projected over the next year and they're "supposed" to be fine. But everyone knows kinks get thrown in. Now all that's left is to get my physical examination and do a immunization check-up :S

Not much happening, just wanted to apologize to everyone for not being around more at the moment. The interview went well, but the orientation had a math quiz, and I know that with the combination of lack of sleep and nerves, I didn't do well on it at all. So I'm not getting my hopes up at all. In fact, I'm going to say that I didn't get in. But yes, I have exams this week and on the week of the thirteenth of april, so you probably won't be seeing much of me until after that. But please don't let that stop you from dropping by my elfwood page and leaving comments about how things are going for you. I do have a ticket in the queue, and it may get through before I'm finished my exams, which would be kind of nice :D Well, better get to bed since I have to get up before class tomorrow to do more studying, I work after my class because they couldn't find anyone else to cover the shift, so I've got hardly any time to study for that exam *Groan* ... why is it a rule that you always feel underprepared going into an exam no matter how much you study? Well, it seems to be a rule with me, lol.

Well, I got the call .... I have an interview this weekend, saturday to be exact. *shrieks* But what will I wear! (sorry, couldn't resist using that quote when it actually applies :D.) Anyway, so my interview for the university program is at 3:30pm .... and what's so bad about that you ask? The fact that a mandatory orientation is set for none other than ...... 9:30am. Anticipation of horrific detail falls flat, does it not? But then you're missing one tinsy winsy detail ... this is all in a city approximately 4 hours away *thunder rolls* so yes, that means that I must roll myself out of bed to the sound of my alarm at 3:30am! Now the groans of sympathy can start :D. And since my interview is set at 3:30pm ... that means I will approximately have been awake (assuming one will be awake right when the alarm goes off is asking for trouble) 12 hours, and will be utterly knackered for my interview and probably blow it. Not to mention the fact that I have to do a math quiz! O_o Eeep. So I am resigned to being extremely tired this weekend and going into my final exam on monday with little or no sleep. This is my news for today! :D

Warg, I drove the hour in to my creative writing class today, only to find that she cancelled the class. It makes me so mad, I just wasted a quarter of my gas tank to find out that there was no class, and I'm paying good money for classes. Not to mention the fact that I lost two hours out of my day. She could have at least e-mailed the class to let them know that there wouldn't be a class, she had time to type out the assignment for next week and post it up, why couldn't she have posted the fact that there was no class?! Sorry, all ranting aside. :D

I found the picture:
Here is little Benjamin. I think this is just a classic photo that my mom took, very beautiful.

Other than that, everything is going good ... been busy with school. And trying to fit in a little bit of writing, which I'm going to go do right now, so have a good night everybody!

Sugar and spice and everything nice ...

I have a new cousin! My aunt went into labor yesterday night at 12am and had Benjamin at 5:50am. Whew, that was a fast labor, she was lucky! Unfortunately, her hemoglobin count is down at 60%, where it's normally supposed to be 100 ... so they've asked her if she wants a blood transfusion. But I got to see him when he was almost 14 hours old and he was so cute! Alert, with green-blue eyes. I wonder what they'll be after their baby phase.

Bored ramblings of a procrastinator!

Heh, yep, I'm at it again. Procrastinating seems to be something I am excellent at. I'm in the process of writing my submission for project 22 of the Herscher Project, of which I am proud to say has an intricate storyline ... at least it did in the planning stages. Who knows what it will turn into once it is all down on paper. I'm hoping this short story will turn out to be at least 15 pages ... which would be a record for me. All of my short stories seem to have an un-agreed upon limit of ten pages and nothing I can do seems to change that.

On another side note, since I have the attention span of a gnat, I was reading earlier about the nanowrimo challenge and found it quite intriguing. Why couldn't they have put it in the summer so that those of us who are at uni (or highschool for that matter) could also have more of a chance to participate. I maintain ... I am not bitter that I missed it this past november *looks around innocently* I'm thinking about giving myself that challenge this summer regardless of whether anyone else is doing it or not. All that is left now is the wait until my final exams are finished, and developing a storyline with enough stuff jam packed into it that I can write that many words about it. Heh. It is very alluring, the possibility of being able to say that I finally finished writing a book. Just the other day my brother phoned and when I told him I was writing he asked if my book that I'd started in December of 2005 was finished. I just laughed. He doesn't seem to understand the way my mind works. There are so many stories and characters running around in my head that I'm afraid they're going to do themselves an injury. I've got over 10 stories on the go, and most of them are novel length ... as I am only now starting to pick up shorter concepts for stories. *sigh* What can I say, I'm a slow learner :D. It also doesn't help that I have writers block on a few of my major pieces. *shakes fist* curse you aqua scum! ... oh, in case you didn't know, which you probably don't, I'm known on elfwood for my disney quotes, so I'm quite sure that trait will carry over into here. So if you see random quotes popping up throughout each of my entries, do not be alarmed, this is just one of many manifestations of my abnormal personality. You can start worrying when the quotes stop.

Alas, I think I have given my break a big enough break ... any longer and it's apt to forget the storyline entirely! Take care for now!

Hi everyone. Well, just to let you know a wee bit about me and why I joined. I'm a writer at heart, and since elfwood is on the fritz at the moment, I thought I'd come here and find out what everything was about.
